- Ohio Valley Defeat the WV Blackbears and Cincinatti Falcons in Back-to-Back Weeks: The Ohio Valley Warriors travelled to Ravenswood, WV and defeated the Blackbears 50-0 on Saturday, July 10th. "I was very impressed with how the defense travelled to the game. We were in complete control of the game from the start and had an opportunity to get everyone quality playing time. I would expect the same next week vs. the Falcons," said Coach Huffman. Said Coach Martin of the offense: "We were a little short-handed, missing a few starters and backups, but the guys that were there did what they were supposed to do." On the 17th vs. the Falcons, it was much of the same. The Warriors were able to preserve a 2nd shut-out in a row and amass over 400 yards of rushing in the process. "The offense has started to click, hitting a stride if you will," said Martin. From Coach Huffman - "After watching the film, I felt like it was the first time all year that we were getting more than 5 hats to the football. Going forward, this is key to our success on the defensive side of the football." Next up - The Kentucky Stallions in Edgewood, Ky (Dixie Heights HS) on Saturday, July 24th at 7:00pm. This game will have HUGE ramifications - a loss by either team will all but guarantee a trip to the HIT (Heartland Invitational Tournament) while the winner will earn the inside track on punching their ticket to the playoffs by wrapping of the division.
